How we work with you
Your style, crafted to last
-
Every project begins with a conversation about your needs and how I can help bring your ideas to life.
I usually ask for a photo of your furniture, and from that I’ll work out a rough quote. If you are happy with that, I will usually schedule a visit to take a look and measure for fabric.
If you would like fabric samples, I will search and order those for you and have them delivered to your door.
Once I have worked out all the costings and fabric details for you, I will email you the information, and we can book your job in.
-
Every piece is different.
I usually give a wide quote to cover all eventualities. You may need a total reupholster from the frame up or just a recover, but I never really know until the covers are removed and I can see what is underneath. Usually the work is somewhere in between. The best thing to do is get in touch, and we can discuss your project together.
The quote I provide to you will set out:
The labour costs involved.
The estimated cost of the materials I will use.
Any extra items we have agreed on such as fabric, any new cushions and hardware, like new castors.
I use a company for collection and delivery if you are unable to deliver your piece to me yourself. I can get a quote for you if requested.
-
Caring for the environment matters to both my customers and me, so I use natural and recycled materials in my upholstery whenever possible.
I try to use latex foam or foam made from recycled bottles instead of petroleum-based foam, or sheet products like rubberised hair (coconut fibre and latex) if working on a modern piece.
When working on traditional pieces, I avoid animal hair, preferring coconut fibre and hemp products, and I don’t work with leather.
I avoid replacing materials unless it’s necessary, which helps keep your costs down and is better for the planet. When there is waste, like petroleum-based foam, I recycle as much as possible through a local company.
